~Is
the fishing really 'that' good?~
It is
if you consider hundred pound King Salmon something to talk
about. Many
trophy sized salmon, halibut & trout have been caught in Alaska
waters and there's probably one out there waiting for your hook!
Fishing
regulation booklets and licenses are available almost anywhere there
are stores. Alaskans take their fishing seriously. You'll want to have
correct information about licenses, tags and closings so you don't end
up in trouble with the Alaska Department of Fish & Game.
Here's
a few fishing hot spots. Check back often as more information is added
on a regular basis.
Montana
Creek: milepost 96.5 on the Parks Highway, camping and RV parking,
groceries and gas services during all summer months.
King Salmon (June-July)
Silver Salmon (July-August)

Willow
Creek: milepost 71.4 off the Parks Highway, camping and RV parking,
groceries and general supplies are available nearby.

Creek: north end of downtown Anchorage, the only urban King Salmon

Creek: approximately 25 miles south of Anchorage on the Seward Highway,
some camping available, most parking occurs along the Seward Highway.

and groceries are available in Cooper Landing.

launches on the river, lodging, guide services, tackle and groceries
