Anchorage is where many Alaskan adventures start and what could be more exciting than a glacier flightseeing trip with Ellison Air. Their convenient location and quaint log cabin on the shores of Anchorage's Lake Hood will help to make this a perfect introduction to Alaska. Take a stroll around the lake and stop in to say hello.

Want to get off the beaten path? Wrangell-St. Elias Lodging & Tours provides personal itinerary planning and custom-tailored travel packages throughout Alaska and the Yukon.

In Fairbanks and surround area is The University of Alaska Fairbanks Museum, the Musk Ox Farm, The Riverboat Discovery, El Dorado Gold Mine, Chena Hot Springs, and Alaskaland historical park.

About 45 minutes out of Fairbanks is the famous Chena Hot Springs Resort.

Few visitors to Alaska leave without visiting Denali where they find themselves surrounded by an environment filled with abundant wildlife including bear, fox, caribou, moose, wolves, and sheep. Here you can enjoy whitewater rafting, flightseeing, horseback riding, hiking, dog mushing and gold panning.

Seward, Alaska, gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park and the scenic drive is only a little over two hours from Anchorage. If you'd prefer, the Alaska Railroad has scheduled service. As well there is scheduled bus or air transportation. As you leave Anchorage heading south on the Seward Highway you'll follow the north shore of Turnagain Arm through Chugach State Park and Chugach National Forest with a beautiful view of the Kenai Mountains.

The Alaska Marine Highway offers an alternative with a ferry trip or a combo drive/ferry trip. Drive or walk aboard in Bellingham, Washington or Prince Rupert, BC. Plan stops along Alaska’s Inside Passage and get a feel for some of Alaska's colorful history. Sailings are scheduled monthly during the summer and less frequently during the winter. Check out their website for more information.
